WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL
A happy and vibrant school for boys and girls aged 2 to 13
As a part of the award-winning Brighton College family of schools, Brighton College Prep Kensington nurtures a culture of kindness, where the personal happiness of children is our priority.
In an environment of academic excellence and opportunities beyond the classroom, we celebrate the uniqueness of every child, fostering curiosity and confidence as they grow.
Life in the Upper School

OUR LOCATION
London is our Classroom
Our location in the heart of Kensington means we are able to use London as our classroom. Iconic London spaces such as Natural History Museum, V&A and Science Museum are only a short walk away, offering a truly unique approach to education.
With a beautiful two-acre Secret Garden, our pupils explore so much more than the traditional curriculum through our Forest School.

Our Values
We provide opportunities for every child to excel, both inside and outside the classroom. Our stimulating environment develops pupils to be enthusiastic, energetic and kind – contagious qualities that enable a vibrant atmosphere to flourish.
Inspiring Curiosity
More than just teaching from a curriculum, the approach at Brighton College Prep Kensington is about helping children feel excited about the world around them. We know that education is for life, and curiosity is at the heart of a good education.
We guide and encourage children to ask questions, enjoy the magic of discovery, work together to find solutions, and grow into adults who will make a real difference in the world. This is our priority with each and every child.
Building Confidence
We know how important it is for children to feel confident: to have that inner self-belief to try anything and be comfortable in their own skin.
Whether they are an introvert, an extrovert, or neither, we believe in inspiring children to be a first-rate version of themselves and not a second-rate version of someone else.
"Brighton College: Where confidence, kindness and curiosity are championed."
A Culture of Kindness
Kindness is the currency at Brighton College. From learning about empathy in early years, to volunteering and working with community groups in older year groups, and partnering with international organisations to support global movements, our pupils are thoughtful and kind.
We know that, more than academic results or sporting successes, this is what all parents want for their children.

Join us at an Open Morning
At our Open Mornings you will have the opportunity to meet our Head, Mrs Lois Gaffney, and other key members of staff, and learn more about what a Brighton College education looks like.
Meet our Head, Mrs Lois Gaffney
“I believe education needs to be exciting and dynamic to prepare pupils for the modern world. As teachers we should inspire children to explore, embrace opportunities and challenges, and work with others to be a part of society, not apart from it.
Our curriculum nurtures academic excellence, but we know that learning needs to be fun and tailored to the individual needs of children. The happiness of each child matters above anything else at our school. Happy children excel, and the relationship between teachers, parents and children are at the forefront of our ethos.
With a culture of kindness at the core of our school, and a firm belief in the individuality of each child, Brighton College Prep Kensington is a school where there are no limits to the dreams and aspirations of our children.
Having held senior roles within three Brighton College prep schools, I bring a deep understanding of a Brighton College education, and I am delighted to be leading the school during such an exciting time in its history.”
United Kingdom School of the Decade

This annual event is a wonderful celebration of children’s paintings, drawings, and prints. Beyond showcasing young talent, the exhibition works alongside the Royal College of Arts and raises vital funds for research into childhood cancers with Great Ormond Street.
The title for the exhibition this year was ‘Here and Now’. We are very proud of every pupil who entered the competition and a special congratulations goes to the seven pupils whose pieces were selected for the gallery, including a few who received ‘commended’ status!
